Turbo-Charge Your Wikis: Integrating Web 2.0 and More!

"See how Chesapeake High School-STEM Academy has used the full power of wikis to engage students in the learning process, thereby enhancing student achievement and preparing students for the 21st Century workforce. The purpose of this session is to educate teachers and others on how to integrate various Web 2.0 tools, advanced settings, and other technologies into wikis. Teachers and students at Chesapeake, in grades 9-12, in various content areas have benefited from the enhancement of their wikis in the classroom. Enhanced wikis allow teachers to integrate multimedia creating an interactive, engaging, and collaborative learning environment that meets the needs of a variety of learning styles. Specifically, we will present examples of wikis integrating Google docs, avatars, VoiceThreads, podcasts, virtual learning environments, and more! "
